1. Welcome to TurtleType

By accessing or using TurtleType (turtletype.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these principles, please discontinue using the service. We aim to keep these terms straightforward, respectful, and focused on maintaining a fair training environment for keyboard enthusiasts worldwide.

2. Permitted Use & Community Practice

TurtleType is designed as a clean, reliable, and free training ground for typists of all skill levels. You are warmly welcome to use TurtleType for:

  • Personal typing practice, speed milestones, and muscle memory development.
  • Classroom education in elementary schools, high schools, universities, and coding academies.
  • Informal typing challenges, office competitions, and friendly leaderboards with peers.

3. Fair Play & Prohibited Conduct

To maintain an authentic training atmosphere and guarantee high availability for all global typists, you agree not to:

  • Deploy automated scripts, macros, virtual keystroke injectors, or headless bots to simulate artificial typing speeds.
  • Interfere with site reliability through denial-of-service (DDoS) attempts, network attacks, or excessive automated requests.
  • Engage in aggressive bulk data scraping or systematic extraction that strains our hosting bandwidth or commercially clones the platform.
  • Attempt to bypass security controls, reverse-engineer proprietary application logic, or exploit software vulnerabilities.

4. Intellectual Property & Literary Quotations

The TurtleType brand identity, custom turtle keyboard mascot SVGs, design system, color themes, and original software code are the intellectual property of TurtleType.

Short literary excerpts, passages, and quotations featured in Quote Mode belong entirely to their respective authors, estates, or copyright owners. They are provided strictly for educational motor-skill practice, literacy appreciation, and fair quotation under public domain and fair dealing principles.

Takedown Requests: If you are a copyright holder and wish to request the removal of any specific excerpt, please contact us at support@turtletype.com with the subject line "Quote Removal Request". We respect creators and will review and remove the requested quotation within 48 business hours.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

TurtleType is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. While we strive for uninterrupted 99.9% edge availability and bug-free performance, we cannot guarantee perfection across every browser environment or operating system.

Under no circumstances shall TurtleType or its maintainers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, this application.
